Not sure about the floating, falling people, oetherwise: you are getting there...
If you want to put people inside it should be more fitting to the era 2112...maybe more like this: http://barthess.nl/
And also match the color levels and illumination of the figures and your model..they shouldnt look like collages, but more realistic..
Maybe you could also try what we discussed in a meeting: The spikes are opaque in summer to provide shadow, and transparent in winter to let the sunlight trough...two renderings, from the same point of view, to see that effect...
